Actress Sarah Jessica Parker, best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw on HBO’s “Sex and the City” turned 60 earlier this year. Definitely a milestone birthday, she celebrated it just a few months before the last episode of season 3 of the “Sex and the City” reboot “And Just Like That” aired. The question many are asking - “Is this really the end? Will there be more seasons of the beloved show’s reboot?” We’ll look for clues to the answer via the transits to Sarah Jessica Parker’s natal chart.
We don’t have a birth time for Sarah, so without knowing her ascendant, we will count houses from her natal Moon in Sagittarius/Purva Ashada. The Moon represents our mind, emotions, and where/how we find peace. Especially in charts for women, examining the Moon in this way can be quite accurate in assessing what is happening in the chart.
Before we begin an assessment of her moon, it is important to note that Sarah’s 2nd Saturn return ended just a few days after her birthday when Saturn moved into Pisces on March 29th after his 2.5 year transit in Aquarius. This is the first indication of where Sarah’s life may be heading. Saturn is an indicator of the kind of wisdom that we accumulate as we age. Our Saturn returns can be times of significant growth and change. We rarely are the same people after this long transit is through. They are times where we “grow up,” so to say. For women especially, the first Saturn return can mark the time we move from the “maiden” part of life to that of “mother.” The second Saturn return heralds the end of the “mother” phase and moves into the wise woman “crone” phase. We will examine the aftermath of Sarah’s first Saturn return by seeing what significant events in her life took place during the time of Saturn in Pisces. This will give us a clue as to what may be on the horizon for Sarah in the upcoming 2 years.
Before we begin looking at Sarah’s Saturn return, let’s take a look at her natal Saturn located in the Nakshatra of Satabishak. This is the place of Saturn’s “mooltrikona” placement, which is where a planet has its “roots” giving it a very strong, natural and comfortable position. Because Saturn is peaceful here, when he returns to this spot, he is strong and the transit gives positive and beneficial results as we will see.
Sarah’s first Saturn return (March 6, 1993 to June 2, 1995) was significant for Sarah’s career as she “grew up” in her career, transitioning from being known as a child star (maiden) supporting film and television roles to that of a leading lady (mother) in successful movies such as “Hocus Pocus” and “Honeymoon in Las Vegas.” She also met her future husband Matthew Broderick during this period.
The transit of Saturn in Pisces (June 2, 1995 to April 28, 1998) was significant for Sarah, ushering two new chapters in her life. Matthew Broderick in May of 1997 and towards the end of this transit she was cast in the role for which she will be the most remembered for. The first season of “Sex in the City” premiered in June 1998. She had fully matured into the “mother” phase of her life.
During Sarah’s second Saturn return (January 17, 2023 to March 29, 2025) her activities were mainly focused on the filming and release of the reboot of “Sex and the City” called “And Just Like That…” This was also a time when she was expanding her name with the launch of her publishing company, SJP Lit. One huge chapter of her life looked like it was ending. With her best known role now in the rearview mirror, what’s next for her?
Saturn moving into Pisces is very significant for Sarah because this is where she has a stellium of powerful planets. Her Sun, Venus and Mercury are all there. It is here that we begin to look at Sarah’s chart not from her Saturn, but from her Moon.
Sarah’s natal Moon is located in Sagittarius in the nakshatra of Purva Ashada. Ruled by Venus, Purva Ashada is a gentle nakshatra whose Deity is Apas, the Goddess of Water. This gives Sarah’s Moon a determined energy where she can gain success through the soft and feminine qualities of Venus. With her Moon being here, this means she was born during her Venus mahadasha. Some of the overarching themes of this life path are connected to the finer things of life - beauty, fashion, art and relationships. Sarah’s natal Venus is exalted in Pisces, which makes this even more significant.
To see how the Moon, which represents our emotions and places we look for happiness, is supported in our chart, we can see how the Moon is supported in houses which are at an angle (4th, 7th and 10th) from the Moon. For Sarah, the only place this happens is 4 houses from the Moon where Saturn by transit currently sits and her natal Sun, Venus and Mercury are.
The 4th house in general is the natural house of the Moon. It represents the Mother archetype where we look for comfort, nourishment, stability and security. This is key for Sarah because she has an exalted Venus here. Known for her personal beauty and style (not to mention the same of her “Sex in the City” character Carrie Bradshaw), an exalted Venus here shows that beyond these more superficial qualities, she truly finds happiness through steady and grounded relationships. Her long and happy marriage of 28 years to fellow actor Matthew Broderick is one example of this.
Mercury is Sarah’s Atma Karaka (indicator of the soul) which means part of her purpose in this life is to speak the truth and use words to uplift, especially when it comes to relationships. Combined with her exalted Venus, this is even more so. No wonder people feel intimately connected to her through her acting roles, especially that of Carrie Bradshaw.
Sarah’s Sun is in good dignity here and gives a natural feeling of gentle, feminine confidence to the other planets located here.
But how are these planets being affected by current transits? Now she has moved through her second Saturn return and entering her “crone” phase, what might this look like?
Saturn by transit is currently 4 houses from Sarah’s natal moon in Pisces. The theme here is “focused emotion.” This is time for Sarah to “ground down.” Last time, she met the person who is currently her husband. Now it is many years later, and she very well may want to spend more time at home with him, especially since her exalted Venus (planet of relationships) is here. Matthew Broderick also happens to have his natal Venus in Pisces which is 7 houses from his natal Moon in Virgo. This would make the Saturn in Pisces transit a time when he would be focusing on “structured partnerships.” No wonder Sarah and Matthew got married while Saturn was in Pisces last time! Over 30 years into their relationship, this may be when both of them want to begin to spend more time focusing on home, relationships and family instead of career.
Saturn is the planet which is connected to wisdom and aging. He reminds us that we all have limited time on this earth. After the intensity and success from her second Saturn return, she is ready for something else. With her exalted Venus here, we can see that she is still full of physical beauty and is aging gracefully without the help of plastic surgery. With her powerful Saturn on her Atma Karaka Mercury, she may begin speaking out and encouraging others to embrace the natural aging process, and find the beauty that comes with this.
Saturn is transiting her natal Sun, which represents our vitality. Simply put, even though her physical self is holding up quite well, with age her natural vigor is waning. Rather than push herself unnecessarily, during this transit, she may want to slow down and spend more time at home with her husband (Saturn 4 houses from the Moon conjunct Venus)
It does seem that if we take all of the above transits into consideration, it appears likely that at least during this transit of Saturn in Pisces (March 29, 2025 to February 23, 2028) she will embrace this new “crone” era of her life and concentrate her time and energy on things other than her career.
Other current transits which support this:
